Why Grassland-Genetics?

The project Swiss Grassland-Genetics is based on the idea to use the available resources in a sustainable way – a topic that gains more and more importance. Animal production on roughage-based feed is not just more ecological, but also better for the animal health and more economical. Especially in a time with low milk prices it’s important to reduce the production costs – which can be reached with robust, healthy and persistent animals and genetics from Switzerland that are suitable for roughage feeding.

Grassland-genetics from Switzerland does not only fit in the Swiss Alps, but also on Baltic pastures.
